Scheme for Alternative Packet Overflow Routing (SAPOR)

چکیده
Shortest path routing schemes like Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) have shortcomings when networks are highly loaded. Traffic engineering of IP networks is required to avoid this problem. Current efforts suggest the optimisation of OSPF weights to balance the network load more evenly. Also more advanced technologies like Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) are proposed. One major problem of dynamic routing efforts that are using OSPF is the fact that many traffic flows are influenced by single weight changes. The Scheme for Alternative Packet Overflow Routing (SAPOR) which is introduced in this paper, realises a methodology that can remember the routing of packets for the duration of a micro flow. This allows the rerouting of overflow traffic. In this case, well known concepts and methodologies from conventional circuit switched teletraffic engineering can be adapted for IP networks.

A Simple IP Flow Blocking Model
Flow based networking can assist in addressing current performance issues in convergent IP networks and enable dynamic, real-time routing. The Scheme for Advanced Overflow Routing (SAPOR) is a method that enables flow based routing in IP networks. This paper presents an analytical model that allows the calculation of overflow probabilities for flows, transmitted via a bottleneck connection. The...
متن کاملLoad-Balanced Routing and Scheduling for Real-Time Traffic in Packet-Switch Networks
Future computer networks are expected to carry bursty real-time traffic with stringent time-delay requirements. Popular shortest-path routing protocols have the disadvantage of causing bottlenecks due to their singlepath routing. We propose a real-time routing and scheduling scheme that randomly distributes the traffic load over all available paths to the destination for load balancing and tran...
متن کاملPacket Handling Scheduling in Multiple Routing Configurations for Fast Ip Network Recovery
As a promising approach to improve network reliability, Proactive Failure Recovery (PFR) [1] reroutes failure affected traffic to backup paths without waiting for the completion of IP routing convergence. However, the failure affected traffic may cause congestion. If a proper scheduling policing mechanism is not used when a router redirect the traffic to alternative paths an overflow of packets...
متن کاملA Trust-based Framework for Congestion-aware Energy Efficient Routing in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks
A new era in wireless sensor network technology has been ushered in through the introduction of multimedia sensor networks, which has a major bottleneck in the form of network congestion. Congestion occurs when resources are in high demand during the active period while the data processing and transmission speeds lag behind the speed of the incoming traffic. This may disrupt normal network oper...

Security is the major area of concern in communication channel. Security is very crucial in wireless sensor networks which are deployed in remote environments. Adversary can disrupt the communication within multi hop sensor networks by launching the attack. The common attacks which disrupt the communication of nodes are packet dropping, packet modification, packet fake routing, badmouthing atta...
